Benfica are among the leading suitors for Rennes midfielder Seko Fofana, who has had limited minutes and is open to a move this month.
Ouest France reports that Rennes are ready to negotiate his exit, ideally on loan until the end of the season. Benfica are monitoring the situation and view the 30-year-old as an experienced option for José Mourinho, who could see departures in this window.
The report also says Porto, led by Francesco Farioli, are in the race. Fofana has had offers from Türkiye but was not convinced, and he favours a switch to Portugal.
The Ivory Coast international has previously played for Udinese, Lens and in Saudi Arabia. He joined Rennes in January 2025 and, with minutes scarce, is not ruling out leaving the current sixth-placed side in France.
In 2025/26 he has made 12 appearances for Rennes. Valued at €8 million, he has one goal across 654 minutes under Senegalese coach Habib Beye.
