Rennes midfielder Seko Fofana (30) may already by on his way out of Brittany, only a year after joining from Al-Ettifaq on a lucrative four-and-a-half-year contract. Ouest-France reports that the Ivory Coast international is the subject of advanced talks between Rennes and two major Liga Portugal clubs, FC Porto and SL Benfica.
Fofana, who is short of game time under the leadership of Rennes head coach Habib Beye, would go out on loan with no option to buy. Les Rouge et Noir have already bolstered their midfield options this winter in signing Poland international Sebastian Szymanski from Fenerbahçe.
Rennes host Brittany rivals FC Lorient this Saturday at Roazhon Park. The hosts have confirmed that Fofana won’t be part of the matchday squad.
