Benfica ‘to negotiate’ Alexander Bah exit before summer window closes | OneFootball

Alexander Bah could be in his final days as a Benfica player, with the club hierarchy intending to negotiate his departure before the summer window shuts. The Danish international, who analysed the defeat to St Gallen, could make way for Daniel Banjaqui to step up.

According to Mais Sport, Marco Silva is convinced by the 18-year-old full-back’s potential and believes the Portugal under-17 international can take on a bigger role. The coach is also said to see Amar Dedić as the more reliable option at right-back, so would welcome a possible Bah exit.

Banjaqui made three first-team appearances last season and registered one assist, leaving a positive impression on the staff.

Bah is preparing to begin his fifth season at Benfica, having joined from Slavia Prague in summer 2022 for eight million euros. At 28, this could be a final chance to bring in a significant fee for the Estádio da Luz club.

Benfica want to open talks at around 15 million euros, though they are prepared to lower their demands or include add-ons to facilitate a transfer.
