Benfica ‘to trigger’ release clause for Köln’s Kaminski | OneFootball

Benfica are now thought to be ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion in the race for Kaminski, who is reportedly closing in on a summer move.

Sky Germany reports that the Portuguese club are prepared to trigger the release clause in the Köln player’s contract, believed to be around €20 million.

Negotiations between the clubs are said to be ongoing, while Köln are confident a deal will be completed.

Kaminski is understood to be keen on taking the next step by joining a leading European side, with Benfica able to offer the prospect of Europa League football next season.

The 24-year-old delivered an impressive debut campaign for Effzeh after arriving from Wolfsburg last summer, recording seven goals and three assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances during the 2025/26 season.
