The selection offers him a chance to bank minutes during a spell of limited involvement at Benfica. It could also help him build rhythm and demonstrate his qualities, having yet to convince the club’s hierarchy this season.

He has not played since 25 February, when he featured in the Champions League against Real Madrid. After that match he was involved in a contentious moment when he asked Vinícius Júnior for his shirt, the Brazilian having accused Gianluca Prestianni of alleged racist insults.

In the 2025/26 season, Cabral has made 11 appearances for Benfica, seven in Liga Portugal Betclic, two in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. He has one goal and three assists and is valued at five million euros.
