With fixtures coming thick and fast in October, Betway, the Official Betting Partner of Manchester City Football Club, has selected a handful of City’s best October moments in recent seasons.

There is often no better way to get excited for things to come than by looking at things that have come before.

And Betway’s October Monthly Rewind is the perfect place for it. But which October goals did they pick?

2010 – David Silva

On October 17, 2020, David Silva opened up his City account, which would later see him total 77 goals in 436 appearances, a true Club icon.

And what a way to bag your first City goal! The midfielder danced around three Blackpool players before his curling left-footed effort hit the back of the net.

2024 – Erling Haaland

Of course our Norwegian number nine was going to be included.

On October 26, 2024, Matheus Nunes teed up Erling Haaland for the decisive goal in City’s 1-0 win over Southampton.

2024 – Lauren Hemp

On October 6, 2024, Lauren Hemp made history by becoming the youngest player ever to hit 50 goals in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Despite a sea of West Ham bodies around her on the edge of the opposition’s box, Mary Fowler managed to nudge the ball into the path of England forward Hemp.

A composed drop-of-the-shoulder allowed her to bring the ball onto her favoured left foot as two West Ham players were sent the wrong way. A composed finish completed the move in another win for City.

2018 – Riyad Mahrez

Sometimes the most difficult wins are the most rewarding. And that was definitely the case when Riyad Mahrez gave City the lead at Tottenham Hotspur on October 29, 2018.

The winger latched on to the end of Raheem Sterling’s pass, firing home from close range.

Will the upcoming October fixtures provide more exciting moments to reminisce about in years to come? Only time will tell...
