Leeds United fans will bid farewell to several players against Brighton & Hove Albion, while many hope Daniel Farke stays. According to Leeds Live, talks on his future loom.

Farke kept Leeds up with three games to spare, reached an FA Cup semi-final and went unbeaten against Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea. He says he must be convinced by the 49ers’ plan, noting his brief of promotion and survival has been met.

He wants ambition and something to play for, not a holding pattern. He says he will only lead with authority and will not front a season he does not believe in, declining to predict the talks.

A year ago, reports said the 49ers considered replacing him despite a Championship title. Having proved sceptics wrong, he has broad backing with 12 months left on his deal and says he is not talking about walking away.

He will take plans on recruitment and contracts into his meeting. It seems as though Joel Piroe will be sold, while Sam Byram is nearing the end of his deal after seven top-flight minutes and injuries could bring him game time.

Brighton will bring former Elland Road favourite Georginio Rutter for his first return since leaving in 2024. Facundo Buonanotte is ineligible to face his parent club, while Karl Darlow’s future is uncertain with his contract expiring.

This is Leeds’ only home game since safety was secured, so a rousing reception is expected. The lap of honour might be at its loudest for Farke.
