Boca Juniors have moved forward in a bid to sign Paulo Dybala, recently linked with Flamengo.

The Argentine club hope to bring Dybala in after the World Cup, scheduled for June and July in the United States. ESPN Argentina reports there is already a preliminary agreement between the parties.

Dybala is under contract at Roma, with his deal running until the end of the year. Boca would not pay a fee to the Italian side to complete the move.

Flamengo showed interest in the attacking midfielder earlier in the season, but did not lodge an offer.

Flamengo now turn to Wednesday 29 against Estudiantes in Argentina in the Libertadores. Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time, with TV coverage on Rede Globo and streaming on Paramount+.
