Boca to face O'Higgins in Sudamericana play-offs after draw maps Superclásico route | OneFootball

Boca have dropped into South America’s second competition and will face O'Higgins in the Copa Sudamericana play-offs. First legs are set for 21-23 July, with returns on 28-30 July.

According to SuperDepor.com, the draw for the 2026 Copa Sudamericana last 16 placed Boca and River on the same side, so a Superclásico in the semi-finals is possible.

Boca must first overcome O'Higgins, and if they progress they will meet Recoleta of Paraguay. River, who finished first in their group, await the winners of Caracas of Venezuela v Independiente Santa Fe of Colombia.

Elsewhere, holders Lanús play Cienciano in the play-off and, if they advance, would face Botafogo. Tigre meet Nacional of Uruguay and could then cross paths with Montevideo City Torque.

The last 16 is scheduled for 11-20 August. Other seeded ties include Bolívar or Grêmio against São Paulo, Independiente Medellín or Vasco da Gama against Olimpia, and Sporting Cristal or Bragantino against Atlético Mineiro. Another pairing has Universidad Católica of Ecuador or Santos meeting Macará.
