Intense, as it was destined to be. Nerazzurri, like it’s always been in recent seasons; Roma vs. Inter is a story that keeps writing itself in our colours. It ends with a win, with three points, and with the satisfaction that comes after a hard-fought match. Tough, yes, but precision and composure to see the game out. The goal that proved decisive came early on – barely six minutes in – when Ange-Yoan Bonny took off like a sprinter and, breaking away, smashed home a right-footed strike that led to victory. What came after was a long run of opportunities, duels, tension, and battles. Lots of football, complete focus: 95 minutes of pressure that dissipated into the loud, unstoppable chant from the Nerazzurri fans celebrating three crucial points. The perfect way to get going again after the international break and kick off a challenging run of matches.
From the first whistle, Inter showed intensity. Too many days had passed without a match for the team to just ease back into action. They pressed high, fought for every ball, and set the tempo. Lautaro’s yellow card after just three minutes summed it up: total commitment. Then came the breakthrough, as Barella’s perfect through ball sent Bonny racing clear, and the Frenchman’s right-footed strike beat Svilar to make it 1-0. His third goal in seven games, and a vital one. Inter stayed on the front foot, relentlessly competitive, keeping focus and rhythm high. Roma tried to react, but Inter held them well. Mkhitaryan and Dimarco constantly drove the team forward, forcing Roma to retreat. There were more chances, including a shot from Mkhitaryan that flew over, but the first half ended 1-0, with Sommer untested throughout. Tight, intense football defined every moment: recoveries, tackles, and direct transitions.
The second half began with another surge from Inter. Dumfries tested Svilar, who made a fine save to keep Roma in it, but from there the hosts started to push back. From the 52nd minute onward, they launched wave after wave of attacks: Dybala was twice denied by Sommer, who also pulled off an excellent save against Hermoso. The Swiss keeper stayed sharp, pushing away a dangerous free-kick from Dybala and watching Dovbyk head over from close range moments later.
With half an hour to go, Chivu brought on Esposito and Frattesi to inject fresh energy. The match turned into a true battle for control: every loose ball mattered, every second counted. Roma threw on more attacking options, but Inter’s defensive discipline held firm. Pio fought for everything, while Mkhitaryan raised the tempo again, running tirelessly and dictating play. In the 84th minute, after a clever assist from Frattesi, he was inches away from sealing it, his shot crashing against the post.
The tension lasted until the very end. Roma pressed, Inter resisted. Sommer dealt with Dovbyk’s left-footed strike, Cristante headed over, and in the final minutes, Inter managed possession with composure and control. When the whistle blew, relief and pride swept through the Nerazzurri ranks. A hard-earned win, three huge points, and another chapter in Inter’s story of resilience and strength.
