Flamengo are pursuing Botafogo and Brazil midfielder Danilo, and Botafogo are eyeing a record sale if his profile climbs further.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the club believe a World Cup call-up would raise his valuation, increasing the chance of a 40 million euro deal, about R$ 234.3 million at current rates.

Danilo became Botafogo’s most expensive signing last season at 22 million euros, roughly R$ 142 million at the time. The board are seeking to double that figure to aid the finances.

Flamengo face competition, with Palmeiras interested. Fulham of England and Zenit of Russia are also monitoring, though no official bids have been lodged.

His market value reflects recent form, with 20 appearances in 2026, nine goals and three assists. He also featured in Brazil’s March friendlies.

It is expected he will make the final World Cup squad, with the CBF set to reveal the list on 18 May at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro.

While the window remains shut, Flamengo focus on upcoming fixtures, hosting Vasco on Sunday, 03, at 16:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã in round 14 of the Brasileiro.
