Real Madrid versatile star Brahim Diaz joined pre-season training on Monday after his extended holiday following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder’s future has been a subject of speculation for much of the summer, but has no plans to leave the club despite the added competition for places with the arrival of Bernardo Silva and the impending signing of Yan Diomande.
Earlier today, the Moroccan international spoke to Real Madrid TV after training, reflecting on the start of Real Madrid’s pre-season under new manager Mourinho.
“I was really looking forward to coming back, being here and seeing my teammates again. I’m really excited for this season and I’m very happy to be back,” he said.
Brahim is pleased with the work the squad has put in so far under Mourinho and believes it is laying the foundations for the season ahead.
“The training sessions have been really good, very physical, with a lot of hard work and intensity. They’re helping us a lot to prepare for the season, which is the important thing, to be at one hundred percent. We have to keep winning.
“This is Real Madrid and we have to win every match and prepare for it in the best possible way. It’s been a very good pre-season.”

The Moroccan international also spoke about the impact Mourinho has made since taking charge and the messages he has delivered to the squad.
“It’s going very well because both he and all of his staff are very well prepared. We already know who Mourinho is and everything he has won, and we want to keep winning with him,” Brahim stated.
“He tells us to be intense, that we have a lot of individual quality and that we can make the difference, but that, in the end, hard work is extremely important. He wants us to sacrifice ourselves for one another and be a team.”
Brahim made it clear that his personal ambition is to contribute as much as possible, while emphasizing that collective success remains the priority at Real Madrid.
“To be at one hundred percent and help the team. It’s obvious that I’ll give everything I possibly can. I can see that all the Madrid fans are happy with my football as well,” he stated.

“On an individual level, I’m going to give the best version of myself in every match. Collectively, the most beautiful thing is winning trophies. This is Real Madrid and we have to win titles.”
The midfielder also reflected on his current form and happiness both on and off the pitch after an impressive World Cup campaign with Morocco.
“I’m very happy and really looking forward to continuing to enjoy myself on the pitch. Football is my passion. On a personal level, things are going really well at home too. My family and my wife are doing great,” he said.
“Now I just want to keep enjoying what I love, which is football, at the best club in the world, which is Real Madrid. We have to keep moving forward, enjoying ourselves and taking the positives from everything.”
