Brentford Women made it four wins from four in the London South East Premier Division with a 3-1 victory over Sutton United Women at Bedfont Sports Club.

Asees Sangha's first half strike and goals from Renai McCrea and Chelsea Berry in the second half gave the Bees a hard-earned win.

Brentford took the lead on 13 minutes when 16-year-old Sangha latched on to a superb ball from Maï Louvrier, rounded the Sutton keeper and tapped home to make it 1-0 with her second of the season.

The lead didn't last long though, as Carly Williams' side conceded their first goal of the season on 18 minutes; K'Shaela Burch-Waldron nodding in at the back post after a deep free-kick was kept alive.

Sutton then had another chance in quick succession when Milly Cutler got in behind and lifted her chipped attempt over Evie Witek but wide of the goal.

On 26 minutes, Louvrier had a good chance to put the west Londoners back in front after good work from McCrea, but her side-footed effort was too close to Megan Taylor in the Sutton net.

Witek was the next keeper called into action, making a good diving save to her left from Gabrielle Williams' strike.

Alissa Down sent a free-kick into a dangerous area on the stroke of half time, but no one got on the end of it and it was level at the break.

Burch-Waldron almost doubled her tally for the day minutes after the restart for the visitors, pivoting and flashing her half-volley just wide of the post with Witek left watching.

Brentford reacted with a quick chance of their own as half-time substitute Khyri McKenzie fed McCrea but her left-footed strike was blocked by Taylor who narrowed down the angle well.

It was a much better second period from Williams' side - Down almost had a goal of the season contender, smashing an effort with the outside of her foot onto the roof of the net from 30 yards on 53 minutes.

Two minutes later and the Bees had their deserved goal to restore the lead. After some bullish work from McKenzie, the ball fell to McCrea who had plenty of bodies around her on the edge of the box but finished exquisitely to open up her body and lift the ball over Taylor to make it 2-1.

Skipper Maddie Phillips then rattled the post from long range on 65 minutes, her strike inches away from finding the top corner.

Chelsie Berry impacted the game after coming on at the break and she too almost scored a wonder goal, cutting in from the right and drawing a top-drawer save from Taylor with her curling effort with just over ten to play.

In the 90th minute, Brentford put the game to bed. Phillips' corner was floated in under the crossbar and Berry headed home from close range to make it 3-1.

In the end, it was hard-earned but well deserved victory for the Bees, making it four wins from four games in the LSE Premier Division.

Brentford: Witek, Phillips, Graver, Potter (Alaneme 82), Engelhard, Sangha (Harris-Walters 69), Down, McCrea, Gbajabiamila (Berry 46), Louvrier, Morrice-Bartlett (McKenzie 46)

Sutton United: Taylor, Meehan, Humphrey, Cutler, Clark, Allen, Warren, Walters, Burch-Waldron, Williams, Colepio

Subs: Spear, Moon, Murdock, Langley, Ciccadini

Carly Williams reflects on 3-1 win

Carly Williams reflected on her sides improved second half performance which saw them beat Sutton United Women 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

"We were really pleased to get over the line and get another win on the board. We could've been better so it's about going into training and see what we can do next weekend," she explained.

"At half time we spoke about what we're focused on, what we're going after and making sure we stay together and hopefully everyone could see that in the second half.

"I think we were the better team in the first half, but then in the second half we added that energy and intensity. I'm really pleased that the girls stepped up.

"The whole squad had a place to play. The players that started really settled the environment, but those who came on all had an impact which is what's important at the end of the day."
