Brian Brobbey has cooled talk of a move to Chelsea or Bayern Munich, saying he has heard nothing concrete about a transfer.
“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know,” he said. Pressed on a switch to Germany, the 24-year-old replied: “I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that right now.” He was speaking to ViaPlay.
The Sunderland striker has drawn growing interest after a strong Premier League debut season. Reports have suggested Chelsea have monitored him across the campaign, with Bayern also linked. He has made 27 league appearances and scored six goals, and has been mentioned as a more attainable option than names such as Julián Álvarez.
Brobbey joined from Ajax last summer and has adapted quickly under Régis Le Bris, his physicality and movement standing out. Ronald Koeman recalled him to the Netherlands squad last month, when he won his ninth and 10th senior caps against Norway and Ecuador.
