Celtic launched their new away jersey for the upcoming season this morning. The Scottish Champions linked back to the late 1990s with a retro feel for their new away shirt.
In a clip shared on the club’s Twitter page, the King of Kings Henrik Larsson appeared in the video at various points, along with John Collins and Charlie Mulgrew. Celtic called up 90s icon Bobby Gillespie and his Primal Scream hit ‘Movin’ On Up’ to launch the modern take of the 90s effort.
The top is black with neon pinstripes, reminiscent of the 1998/99 away shirt. Fans had hoped for a bumblebee inspired shirt, similar to the 97/98 kit. However, this appears to be a good effort.
The shirt is available to pre-order before going on sale on Thursday, July 24. It will likely be a success with the supporters and hopefully it results in continued success on the pitch for the Celts.
