Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is confident Bukayo Saka (24) will commit his future to the club, insisting the winger “wants to continue with us” as contract talks progress positively.

Sky Sports News reported earlier this week that negotiations between Arsenal and Saka’s representatives are moving forward, with all sides keen to reach an agreement. While no deal has yet been finalised, discussions have been described as constructive, and there is a shared optimism that an extension will be secured.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s weekend fixture, Arteta underlined both the club’s desire to keep their academy star and Saka’s own contentment in north London. “What I’m very aware of is he wants to continue with us,” Arteta said. “He’s very happy and he wants to continue in the place he wants to be in and achieve everything we want to achieve together.”

Saka, now one of Europe’s most influential wide forwards, remains central to Arsenal’s long-term project under Arteta. The manager, however, was keen to leave the finer details to the club’s hierarchy. “When and how that happens? I will leave it to Andrea Berta to figure it out,” he added, referencing Arsenal’s sporting director.
