Burnley have confirmed that manager Scott Parker has left the club by mutual consent following their relegation from the Premier League.

The decision comes just days after Burnley’s drop to the Championship was mathematically confirmed after defeat to Manchester City.

Burnley are well adrift of safety with only a handful of matches remaining, leaving no route back to survival this season.

The club have now acted swiftly to make a change, ending Parker’s tenure less than two years after his appointment.

Assistant coach Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the remaining fixtures of the campaign.
