According to Globo.com, a strain to Cacá’s left internal oblique, part of the lateral abdominal wall, ruled him out of Corinthians’ 1-1 draw with São Paulo in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista.
He had started the 3-0 loss to Red Bull Bragantino at right back, felt pain and underwent treatment across the two days before the Majestoso.
He tried to take the field on the eve of the derby, but the pain persisted and he was not named in the squad.
On Monday, a day off for the squad, Cacá went to the CT Dr. Joaquim Grava to continue treatment. Corinthians have not specified a recovery timeframe.
Athletico-PR have shown interest in recent weeks, but Corinthians do not want a loan and would only consider a sale. Talks have not advanced, and the board say no formal withdrawal has been received.
Corinthians completed a US$ 4 million deal at the start of 2025, about R$ 24 million then, for 90% of his economic rights after clauses were met following a loan. Since 2024 he has played 71 matches, scoring eight with one assist.
Corinthians face Santos on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time at Vila Belmiro in the fourth round.
