The likely lineups for the Algeria – Sudan clash

Just a few weeks after their face-off in the 2025 Arab Cup, Algeria is set to take on Sudan again this Wednesday, December 24 at 3pm GMT, in the opening matchday of Group E at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

The Fennecs have been knocked out in the group stage twice in a row and are under pressure to deliver this time. Vladimir Petkovic has lamented the absence of Houssem Aouar, who is injured and replaced by Himad Abdelli.

The Fennecs' coach has bolstered his squad with some standouts from the Arab Cup, notably Al-Duhail’s sharp striker Adil Boulbina and Mohamed Amine Tougai (ES Tunis).

On the other side, Kwesi Appiah is relying on a core group of players from the domestic league, including Abdelrahman, Khedr, Abdalla, Muzmel, and Mohamed Eisa.
