Kerstin Casparij has described the half-time tweaks City implemented in order to bring the home fans a win against Brighton at the Joie Stadium.
In City’s first home assignment of the 2025/26 campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the Blues came out on top with a battling 2-1 win over the Seagulls with goals from Bunny Shaw and Yui Hasegawa.
After a cagey first half, Andrée Jeglertz’s side took control of the second half with back-to-back goals turning the game on its head after the visitors had taken the lead in the first 45.
The turn of events in the second half was spoken about by the Netherlands international when speaking to Sky Sports, and she outlined some of the changes that were made at the break to help City get the win.
"We were doing alright to be fair. We changed our press a little bit,” she said.
“We were able to get a bit wider and a bit higher, so we were able to break the line. [It was] Just a few little tweaks.
"We lost last week [against Chelsea] but there were a lot of positives.
“We work on the positives, do a few tweaks and we are happy to come away with a win for our home fans."
Casparij played the full 90 minutes at the Joie Stadium and also spoke about the attacking freedom Jeglertz has trusted her to incorporate within the City side.
She talked to Sky about her attacking mindset, and how she aims to continue to improve her performance throughout the season.
"I'm looking forward to getting loads of assists. That's my aim for this year,” Casparij added.
“Hopefully I can work on that tally. I work a lot with Bunny and Hempo to give good deliveries."
