Stop worrying about others, Celtic still has the resources to remain the best side in the country, they just need to use them…

Some Celtic supporters have been guilty of overreacting when it comes to the challenge of our city rivals, and pretenders to our throne, the 14 year old club known as the Rangers.

A percentage of hoops supporters have falsely spooked themselves into believing that a Rangers title win would not only give them the bragging rights, but push them ahead of Celtic as the country’s top club.

One of the major reasons for that belief is that a title win down Govan way, could also clinch automatic Champions League qualification and the riches that go with it, forming the opinion that the Ibrox club could outspend us and become the prominent force in Scottish football.

Whilst a title win and Champions League qualification could revitalise our rivals, it wouldn’t exactly give them a huge advantage over the most successful side in the history of Scottish football.

Granted, qualification for the cash rich Champions League would be a huge financial boost to the Ibrox club, but it would take much much more than a £40 million cash injection to push them ahead of Celtic in the financial stakes.

Celtic still lead the way when it comes to boosting the highest financial resources in Scottish football, due to having the biggest season ticket sales, more lucrative kit deals, and sponsorship deals. Celtic is streets ahead of the financial basket case that is the latest Ibrox club, a club who are forever producing negative financial results.

You only have to look at the regular financial figures released by both clubs to understand that it would take much much more than Champions League qualification for the blue half of Glasgow to topple the Green half.

Celtic boost a massive cash reserve, and can use that to their advantage and consolidate their place as the country’s top club. They just need to utilise it. That is our biggest concern. Celtic this season is our own worth enemy, with the Board picking a fight with the Celtic support which has led to protests and a merchandise boycott with totally unnecessary and prolonged bans on supporters and fan media adding to the internal strive.

Celtic need this all to end as soon as possible, especially with season ticket renewals looming. Tomorrow Celtic can get our title challenge back on track with a win at Dundee and the supporters will do all that they can push the team towards the much needed three points.

Let’s just win the league and make this Ibrox threat worry a complete non-issue.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
