Chelsea agree deal to sell defender | OneFootball

Chelsea have reached an agreement worth £30 million with Italian side Como for the sale of defender Trevoh Chalobah.

A Cobham graduate, the 27-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge having made 151 first-team appearances for Chelsea. He made 47 of those last season, the fifth-most of any outfield player for the club.

The defender was also a late call-up for Thomas Tuchel’s England squad at this summer’s World Cup. He joined the squad on the eve of the tournament to replace the injured Tino Livramento, although he only played a single minute.

Como have agreed to pay Chelsea an initial £25 million fee for the defender, and a further £5 million in add-ons. He will join Cesc Fabregas’ side, who qualified for the Champions League last season, after finishing fourth in Serie A.

Chelsea remain active in the transfer window having secured the services of experienced duo Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck in recent days. More business is expected to follow from Xabi Alonso’s side before the end of the summer.
