Chelsea set asking price for Chalobah amid Como bid | OneFootball

Chelsea want a fee of £30m for Trevoh Chalobah after turning down an opening offer from Como.

The Italian side have submitted a proposal worth €27m (£23m) for Chalobah, an offer that Chelsea have rejected. Como are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of a first-ever participation in the Champions League next season with a move for the England defender.

However, Sky Sports Italy are reporting that Cesc Fabregas’ side will need to raise their offer to sign the 26-year-old to get a deal done.

Chalobah started 31 league games for Chelsea last season but could be sacrificed this summer to raise funds for new head coach Xabi Alonso.

The Spaniard is keen to sign at least one new centre-back this summer and, as an academy graduate, Chalobah’s side would count as pure profit on a balance sheet impacted by the absence of Champions League revenue.

Chalobah is currently with the England squad at the World, having been a late call-up after Tino Livramento’s withdrawal through injury.
