Xabi Alonso's side will play their second and final game before heading to Asia for the second leg of their overseas tour.

They clinched a 6-4 win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday evening, which saw substitute Joao Pedro score a second-half hat-trick.

It's been a 'useful' pre-season so far for Alonso, the Chelsea manager admitted, and he will be keen to learn more lessons when they face a Spurs side, who are now managed by Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs have won both of their pre-season games in Australia so far, beating Auckland FC 2-0 and winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw against Sydney FC.

After both clubs experienced difficult seasons in 2025-26, they will be desperate for improvement as they bid to secure a return to European football.

After conceding four against Western Sydney Wanderers, Chelsea will look for improvement in their defensive performance, with their attack already up and running and finding the back of the net comfortably.

Chelsea team news vs Tottenham

After splitting the team into two sides against Western Sydney Wanderers, Alonso is likely to do the same again against Spurs.

Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens will all be keen to impress after their positive second-half showing on Tuesday against the Aussie side.

Youngster Reggie Watson was the only player to complete the full 90, so it remains to be seen who will be given that opportunity this weekend.

Filip Jorgensen is not available after flying home to the UK to finalise his departure.

Mamadou Sarr and Jorrel Hato missed the Tuesday win as they continue to step up their pre-season programmes.

Romeo Lavia is hoping to be fit to play against Spurs after he was left out as a precaution due to feeling something in his hamstring,

Moises Caicedo is among a few World Cup stars who have now linked up with the Chelsea squad in Sydney following their breaks, but they are unlikely to play any part given their late arrival.
