Guadalajara’s strong form continues to pay off. Following their dominant victory against Puebla, the team led by Gabriel Milito officially clinched a spot in the 2027 edition of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
This will mark the twelfth time Chivas participates in the continental competition, returning after their appearance in the 2025 edition. The Rojiblancos secured qualification via the Liga MX 2025–2026 aggregate table, where they currently sit in third place with 63 points—just one behind leaders Toluca.
Guadalajara still has a chance to finish at the top of the standings, which would bring both sporting and financial incentives.
Chivas boasts a rich history in CONCACAF competitions, having won the title twice (1962 and 2018), along with two additional runner-up finishes (1963 and 2007). Starting in January next year, Guadalajara will aim to add another chapter to that legacy under Milito’s leadership.
