Manchester City have been crowned Women’s Super League champions after Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw away at Brighton.
The result meant City could no longer be caught, sealing their second WSL title and their first in ten years, as Chelsea’s long-standing dominance finally came to an end.
The Gunners knew only a win would keep their slim hopes alive, but despite pushing hard, they couldn’t get the job done on the south coast.
Brighton took the lead just before half-time through Fuka Tsunoda, putting the pressure firmly on the visitors. Frida Maanum pulled Arsenal level midway through the second half, but they couldn’t find a winner.
With that draw, City were confirmed as champions, finishing ahead of Chelsea and wrapping up the title with a game to spare. It marks a major milestone for City, ending a long wait for league success and underlining a strong season from start to finish.
