The England defender, who departs the Club after his final match for the Club against Aston Villa, has been presented with the artwork by Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak in recognition of his trophy-laden decade at the Club.
The most decorated player in the history of Manchester City alongside Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden, Stones’ mosaic depicts his iconic goal-line clearance in the 2-1 win against Liverpool during the 2018/19 campaign, with the bespoke piece installed around the City Football Academy training pitches as a lasting tribute to his defining contribution.

The 31-year-old has made 294 appearances during his time at the Etihad at the time of release, scoring 19 goals and winning 20 major trophies.
Stones joins former players including Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, David Silva as well as Bernardo Silva on a list of those recognised with a mosaic, created by local Manchester sculptor and City supporter Mark Kennedy.
Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “John arrived in 2016 as Pep’s second signing. The intention was that he would be a foundation player to redefine what a defender could contribute. And that is exactly what he did.

“He proved what was possible and did so with bravery, humility and elegance, representing both the traditions of Manchester City and our constant ambition to play beautiful football.
“He is so deserving of all that he has achieved on the field, and the special affection that our fans have for him. His decade of contribution is woven into the most successful period in the Club’s history and makes him forever part of the City family.”
Stones added: “Representing Manchester City has been amazing – the best ten years of my life, without a doubt.
“I am leaving a Manchester City fan forever, so to have this permanent installation at the City Football Academy is a real honour for me and my family.
“This club has given me so much – my teammates, the manager, the staff and the fans have been incredible. I cannot tell you how much my time here means to me, and this mosaic feels so special.
“I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone connected to City over the past ten years one more time. Your love and support have been brilliant.”
