Ozan Kabak’s expiring deal has placed him on the radar of clubs in England, Italy and Spain, Kicker reports, while Hoffenheim work to retain him.
The Turkish international scored in a 2-2 draw with FC Köln at the weekend and anchored the defence alongside Robin Hranáč. It underlined a strong campaign.
Hoffenheim have already tied down Vladimír Coufal, and talks over Kabak’s future are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks to avoid a free departure.
There is optimism at the club that he will commit. He is settled and is understood to value Hoffenheim’s backing during his recovery from a torn cruciate ligament, and his crest-slapping celebration against Köln was taken as a show of attachment.
Even so, a resolution may be complicated. A free move would be attractive given his age and experience at domestic and international level, and he is in the process of obtaining German citizenship, which could ease squad registration.
For now Hoffenheim remain hopeful, but with the clock ticking on his contract a tug of war could emerge.
