Conor Coady was taken to hospital after being knocked out by a shot during Charlton Athletic’s 1-1 draw at Watford on Bank Holiday Monday. The former Wolves captain was later given the all-clear.
The club said in a statement that he was taken to a local hospital for scans and discharged that evening, adding that staff will continue to monitor him in line with protocols and thanking Watford’s medical team for their help.
The 33-year-old was struck by a shot in second-half stoppage time at Vicarage Road, lost consciousness and was carried off on a stretcher.
It was his 500th club appearance. Coady made over 300 appearances for Wolves, joined Wrexham in the summer, then moved to Championship strugglers Charlton on loan in January after limited minutes.
He later thanked medical staff for their assistance on social media.
