José Copete continues his recovery from the serious injury that ended his Valencia season early, cutting short his best spell at the club, and has shared a motivational update with the transfer window open.

He is continuing his rehabilitation in Navarra with Dr Jurdan Mendigutxia, according to Tribuna Deportiva. Early setbacks required a second operation, pushing his possible return to beyond the close of the window.

On Saturday he posted a gym photo, saying it was another week ticked off, and added emojis including a bat and a face with a zipped mouth.

The tone was upbeat and focused on playing for Valencia again, with the final touch suggesting he is working in silence.

It can also be read as him keeping out of any transfer-market noise while he works flat out this summer to accelerate his comeback.
