Corinthians have confirmed the loan with obligation to buy of João Pedro Tchoca, 22, to Torino in Italy. The club said in a statement that the deal runs until the end of June and carries a €1.5 million fee, about R$ 9.5 million.

If João plays 10 matches of at least 45 minutes, the transfer will become permanent for €4.5 million, roughly R$ 28 million. A further €1 million is possible in bonuses, taking the potential total to R$ 43.8 million.

Corinthians will also receive 12% of any capital gain if Torino sell him on.

João Pedro Tchoca joined in 2019 from Deportivo Brasil for the Under-17s, moved to the Under-20s in 2021, and was registered for the 2022 Copinha under Diego Siston.

He became a mainstay in 2023 and 2024, winning the 2024 Copinha as captain under Danilo, then stepped up to the senior squad. With limited minutes, he was loaned to Ceará and helped their 2024 promotion from Série B.

Back in 2025, he started under Ramón Díaz during Libertadores qualifying, featuring from the off, but a run of errors against Universidad Central cost him his place. Late in the 2025 Brasileirão, the absence of André Ramalho opened the door for more minutes under Dorival Júnior.

With his exit, centre-back options are André Ramalho, Gustavo Henrique, Cacá and Gabriel Paulista. Renato trains separately, and 16-year-old Iago Machado has been working with the first team.
