Corinthians will face Barra of Santa Catarina in the fifth phase to begin their 2026 Copa do Brasil defence. Dorival Júnior's side play away first then at home.

The CBF held the fifth-phase draw on Monday, splitting 32 clubs into two pots using the 2026 National Club Ranking. According to Meu Timao, Corinthians were in Pot one and were represented by football executive Marcelo Paz.

The tie order means they will decide the last-16 place at home. First legs are scheduled for 22-23 April, with the returns on 13-14 May. The federation is expected to publish the full fixture list in the coming days.

The meeting with Barra will be a first between the clubs. The Santa Catarina side are reigning state champions after beating Chapecoense in the final, and also won the 2025 Série D.

Corinthians enter as holders seeking a first consecutive Copa do Brasil title. In 2025 they ousted Novorizontino, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR, Cruzeiro and Vasco to lift their fourth crown.
