Corinthians are three Paulistão matches without a win, their longest sequence since the start of 2024.
Meu Timao notes that the early 2024 slump prompted a change in the coaching staff, with Thiago Kosloski taking interim charge against Santos and António Oliveira leading the side versus Portuguesa before a group-stage exit.
That 2024 sequence followed an opening win over Guarani and was made up of defeats to Ituano 1-0, São Bernardo 1-0, São Paulo 2-1, Novorizontino 3-1 and Santos 1-0.
This year shows echoes. Dorival Júnior’s team beat Ponte Preta 3-0 in the opening round, then lost 3-0 to Red Bull Bragantino, followed by 1-1 draws with São Paulo and Santos.
Despite the wobble, Corinthians remain in a knockout berth. In a reformatted Paulistão with eight rounds and a single table, they sit seventh on five points.
They aim to stop the slide on Sunday at 20:30, when they visit Velo Clube in Rio Claro in round five.
