Cacá is close to joining Vitória for the rest of the season, with the centre-back absent from Corinthians training for the past two days as negotiations progress.
According to Globo.com, the club excused him from sessions at CT Joaquim Grava while his representatives finalise the move.
The deal is likely to be a loan until the end of the campaign, with an obligation to buy if Vitória remain in Brazil’s top flight at the end of this year. Financial terms are undisclosed.
He finished 2025 as a substitute at Corinthians, has since lost minutes and was made available for transfer. Talks with Athletico-PR took place before discussions with Vitória advanced.
An academy graduate at Cruzeiro, Cacá also had spells with Athletico-PR and in Japan before signing for Corinthians. He has made 72 appearances and scored eight goals, helping win the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil last year, and the Supercopa Rei this season.
Head coach Dorival Júnior, in agreement with the board, chose to leave him out of activities to avoid disrupting the deal and the squad’s preparation for upcoming games in the Campeonato Brasileiro and the Campeonato Paulista quarter-finals.
