Corinthians drew 1-1 with Bahia at Fonte Nova on Sunday, extending their unbeaten run in Salvador to eight matches.

Their last defeat in the city was in January 2021, a 2-1 reverse to Bahia when Gabriel scored for the visitors. Meu Timao notes the 2020 Brasileiro calendar was adjusted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since then they have played eight times in Salvador against Bahia and Vitória, recording three wins and five draws. In 2021 they visited Pituaçu and drew 0-0. In 2023, with Bahia back in the top flight, it finished 0-0 again at Fonte Nova.

Vitória’s promotion late that year created two annual trips from 2024. Corinthians beat Bahia 1-0 at Fonte Nova through Romero, then won 2-1 at Barradão against Vitória with goals from Memphis Depay and Yuri Alberto.

In 2025 they drew 1-1 with Bahia, Héctor Hernández scoring, and edged Vitória 1-0 thanks to Charles. This year they drew 0-0 at Barradão against Vitória in round 12, before Sunday’s 1-1 at Bahia.

The point in Salvador lifts Corinthians to 28 points, but Botafogo’s victory over Cruzeiro moves them up to seventh. Corinthians sit eighth and now prepare to face Athletico-PR on Thursday 30 July at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena.
