According to Meu Timao, Corinthians held their second and penultimate session on Friday morning at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava ahead of Sunday’s clássico with Santos at Vila Belmiro, 16:00, in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Players began with a video briefing in the Sala de Preleção Flexform, then moved to the gym for activation before heading to the pitch.

On the grass they warmed up, then Dorival Júnior oversaw a possession drill with numerical superiority. Those who played more than 45 minutes in Wednesday’s defeat to Coritiba returned indoors for recovery work, while the rest stayed on for a small-sided game and technical work.

After training, players spoke with about 20 members of organised supporter groups, whose presence was to press the squad following the Coritiba loss and recent results this season.

The final session before the derby is scheduled for Saturday, after which the delegation will travel to the Baixada Santista.

Midfielder Matheus Pereira and forwards Yuri Alberto and Kaio César have rejoined full training with the group. The expectation is that the trio could be available to Dorival for the clássico.

By contrast, attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is still awaiting paperwork to be officially registered by Corinthians. He continues to train with team-mates while working towards better fitness.
