Corinthians right-back eyes home clash with RB Bragantino in Brasileirão

On the morning of this Wednesday (11), Corinthians completed their preparations at the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center for the second round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. On the evening of this Thursday (12), at 8 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will host Red Bull Bragantino at the Neo Química Arena. In the first round, on January 28, the Corinthians team was defeated by Bahia, 2-1, at Vila Belmiro.

The Corinthians squad started the day by watching a tactical instruction video in the Flexform Briefing Room and with a strength activation workout in the gym. Then, the players went to the field at the training center to perform two tactical exercises led by coach Dorival Júnior. Finally, set-piece plays were practiced during the activity.

For the match, the Corinthians technical staff has no players at risk of suspension, but will have three absences. They are: left-back Hugo Farias (knee surgery, out for four to six months), midfielder José Martínez (knee ligament injury), and forward Kaio César (recovering from a muscle injury).

After the activity, right-back Matheuzinho gave an interview to Corinthians TV and commented on the expectations for the match. The only encounter with Massa Bruta this season happened in the second round of the Paulista Championship and ended with an opponent's victory by 3-0 at Cícero de Souza Marques.

“We have to maintain what we've been doing. We have been improving over the last few matches. Our team is finding a good style of play. I believe that regardless of the competition, we have to stick to our game plan. We are well and focused. I hope that against Red Bull Bragantino we can secure our three points”, he stated.
