Corinthians will face Novorizontino in the Campeonato Paulista semi-finals, a tie that will decide a place in the final. According to Meu Timao, the pairing was confirmed on Sunday.

Dorival Júnior’s side advanced after eliminating Portuguesa at Canindé. It finished 1-1 in normal time, then Corinthians won 8-7 in the shootout to book a last-four spot.

Novorizontino also secured their berth on Sunday, beating Santos 2-1 in the São Paulo interior.

The semi-finals are slated for 1 March. With a superior overall campaign, Novorizontino will host at Estádio Doutor Jorge Ismael de Biasi, known as Jorjão. Palmeiras face São Paulo in the other tie, with dates and times to be confirmed by the FPF this week.

Corinthians are fourth in the overall standings. They could play the first leg of the final at home if they progress and meet an opponent with a better campaign. The overall table continues to update during the knockout phase.

Before that, Corinthians return to the Campeonato Brasileiro on Wednesday to face Cruzeiro at Mineirão at 20:00, in the fourth round of the national competition.
