Corinthians Women hit 90 goals in 2025, closing in on remarkable milestone

Corinthians achieved a significant milestone in women's football last Saturday: the 90th goal of the season. The feat came from Jaqueline, who scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Santos, at Fazendinha, for the 9th round of the Paulista Championship, in a match played at Alfredo Schürig Stadium, the Fazendinha.

The Brabas needed 37 matches to reach this number in the current season, recording an average of 2.43 goals per game. In 2024, the team scored 110 times in 44 matches, maintaining an average of 2.50 per game.

In the individual scoring ranking, midfielder Vic Albuquerque leads in 2025 with 13 goals, closely followed by Gabi Zanotti, who has scored 12. Young striker Jhonson is just behind, with nine goals scored.

The team now aims for the symbolic goal of surpassing 100 goals in the season, something that has become routine in recent years. For this, they need at least ten more goals. Since 2016, in nine complete seasons, only in two did Corinthians not exceed the centenary mark: in 2016 (36 games, 99 goals) and in 2020 (32 games, 98 goals), a season affected by the pandemic. It's important to note that the 2020 Libertadores was only played in 2021, which keeps 2016 as the only season without the 100 goals.

Still in 2025, the team has ahead the knockout stage of the Copa do Brasil, the decisive phase of the Paulista Championship, and the Libertadores, competitions that offer the chance to reach and even surpass the goal. The next match will be this Wednesday, against São Paulo, in Santana de Parnaíba, for the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil.
