Corinthians 0-2 Coritiba on Wednesday in São Paulo, with the visitors climbing from 14th to fifth in the Brasileirão as the hosts slip to eighth.
Jacy Maranhão broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, glancing in Josue's cross after a corner.
Pedro Rangel then kept Timão at bay, tipping away Rodrigo Garro's drive (52.) as the pressure built.
Moments later, Lucas Ronier doubled the lead from close range (53.), again supplied by Josue.
Coxa lost Maranhão to injury and introduced Tiago Cóser (69.), before managing the game in the closing stages. A full 10 minutes of stoppage time were indicated, but the visitors stood firm.
Timão dominated the ball with 73.1% possession and recorded 11 attempts, yet tested the goalkeeper only once. Coxa mustered four attempts, two on target, and produced 43 clearances to protect their advantage.
