Crystal Palace and Leeds United have reportedly enquired about a potential transfer move for Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock.
The 26-year-old has not always been a regular in Eddie Howe’s side, and there has long been speculation about his future.
Now, according to journalist Sebastian Vidal, both Palace and Leeds have enquired about Willock’s situation as he approaches the final year of his contract.
This could mean Willock ends up being available on the cheap this summer, though it remains to be seen if any specific club is leading the chase for his signature at this stage.
Willock was previously on the books at Arsenal, so it could be that a move back to London would appeal to Willock, which could mean Palace would be in pole position.
The Eagles are also likely to have a gap that needs filling in midfield this summer due to interest in Adam Wharton, who could leave for a bigger club like Liverpool or Manchester United.
Willock would make sense as a decent replacement for Wharton, though there’s also a lot of uncertainty at Selhurst Park at the moment as Oliver Glasner is set to leave his position, with a new manager set to come in.

Leeds might well be the more stable environment, so that could also appeal to Willock as he prepares to make a decision on his future.
Newcastle could be in for a difficult summer, though, with interest in star players like Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, so it might be that keeping backup players like Willock around wouldn’t be the worst idea.
