Crystal Palace rival Aston Villa’s Jaydee Canvot interest | OneFootball

Last week, Aston Villa saw a bid for Toulouse FC’s Jaydee Canvot (19) rejected, and now they face competition from a Premier League rival, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

Canvot broke through at formative club Toulouse last season and has been identified by Get French Football News as a prospect to watch in our pre-season Ligue 1 guide. A versatile player with great anticipation and strong on the ball, he has often played at centre-back, but he is also capable in midfield, as he showed in Le TéFéCé’s win over OGC Nice on Saturday.

His performances last season have caught the eyes of many big clubs around Europe. Aston Villa made a concrete approach, as reported by Fabrice Hawkins, however, this fell short of Toulouse’s €20m valuation.

Le TéFéCé will now be more confident of their valuation being met as Crystal Palace have now joined the race for the defender.
