According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke will not discuss injured loanee Mateo Joseph’s future until Leeds United have finished their FA Cup and Premier League campaigns, offering sympathy after the striker’s ACL injury.

Joseph, 22, suffered the knee injury last month while on loan at Mallorca, ending his season and ruling him out for several months. He started 19 La Liga games and made 10 substitute appearances, scoring two and supplying four assists, including the winner’s assist in a famous victory over Real Madrid just before the setback.

The forward chose not to join Leeds’ pre-season tours and asked to return to Spain, spending the campaign at Mallorca. Farke had previously disagreed with his decision to miss the Germany training camp.

Farke’s position is to focus entirely on the current squad and immediate objectives. He intends to address loan situations and recruitment only after the FA Cup and Premier League campaigns conclude and if Leeds have achieved what they aim to achieve.

He extended best wishes to Joseph, stressing proper rehabilitation as the priority. He noted the mother club has its view, Mallorca are involved and relations are good, while his attention stays on the players available. Mallorca team-mates dedicated their win over Rayo Vallecano to Joseph, with former Leeds colleagues offering support on social media.
