Daniel Farke restores Anton Stach and Pascal Struijk to the Leeds United line-up for today’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa, with James Justin joining Struijk and Joe Rodon in central defence as Jaka Bijol drops to the bench. Dan James is also among the substitutes. Kick-off at Villa Park is 3pm.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Farke said on Thursday there was a triple boost with Stach, Struijk and James back in team training this week after injuries.
Farke made six changes for last weekend’s FA Cup tie at Birmingham City, from which only Justin and left back Gabi Gudmundsson keep their places today. Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte, a starter at Birmingham, is not in the matchday squad.
Winger Noah Okafor sustained a hamstring injury at Birmingham and has been ruled out for two to four weeks, missing today’s match and next weekend’s visit of Manchester City.
Unai Emery makes seven changes to the Villa side that faced Newcastle United in the FA Cup. Matty Cash returns from a knee injury, with Emi Martínez, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Ian Maatsen, Emi Buendía and Ollie Watkins also back in the XI.
