Day Rodríguez called up by Venezuela, new Corinthians absentee for Teal Rising Cup | OneFootball

Day Rodríguez has been called up by Venezuela for the Liga das Nações Feminina, adding to Corinthians’ absences for the Teal Rising Cup.

According to Meu Timao, the Conmebol competition will determine South America’s qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.

Venezuela face Colombia on 10, Argentina on 14 and Bolivia on 18. They lead the competition with eight points from four matches, two wins and two draws.

With Rodríguez away, Corinthians now have six players on international duty. Lelê, Thaís Ferreira, Gi Fernandes, Duda Sampaio and Ana Vitória have been called up by Arthur Elias for Brazil’s Fifa Series at Arena Pantanal, where they meet South Korea on 11, Zambia on 14 and Canada on 18.

All those called up will miss the Teal Rising Cup in the United States. The Brabas face Kansas City Current in the semi-finals on nine April at 23:00 Brasília time. Both the final and the third-place match are set for 12 April.

If they advance, Corinthians could meet Palmeiras or América, do México, in the final.

The call-ups also place in doubt participation in Corinthians’ Campeonato Brasileiro trip to Juventude in Rio Grande do Sul on 20 April, only two days after the national-team fixtures.
