SKN St. Pölten 6-1 FC Red Bull Salzburg Women (H/T:3-1). Goals: Peneau (23'), Nagy (28'), Krizaj (39'), Ebert (68'), Matavkova (70'), Woelki (80') - Kobler (17')
It felt like more was possible against league leaders SKN St. Pölten. After taking the lead, the Lower Austrians quickly fought back. In the end, we head home with a 6-1 loss.
It was a case of déjà vu at the NV Arena: just like in the first encounter, where Emelie Kobler struck the first blow in the opening minute, we got off to a better start again today. Greta Spinn and her team-mates took the wind out of the sails of the reigning champions by relentlessly pressing them. The right winger forced a back pass from Ollivier, and goalkeeper Schlüter, under pressure from Emelie Kobler, misjudged her clearance. The striker pounced on the loose ball and calmly slotted it home (17').

This goal seemed to wake the Wolves up, and they responded quickly: first, goalkeeper Lara Ritter misjudged a tricky long-range shot from Peneau (23'), then a one-two pass unlocked our defence. Nagy was at the end of the passing sequence (28') - and made it 1-2. It was precisely this composure that made the difference before the break On the one hand, Kobler tried in vain to equalize after a cross, while on the other, Krizaj finished the job by burying the ball in the bottom left corner from outside the box (39').
Once again, our team came out of the dressing room with more verve. Vina Crnoja hit a shot on the turn, and Sara Grabovac had a header – both were just a hair's breadth away. Once again, the home side proved more clinical. Ebert won the aerial duel against Ritter (68'), and shortly afterwards Matavkova pounced on the rebound to make it 5-1 (70'). Woelki then completed the rout (80').
That sealed the deal as we lost by an unfortunate margin against the reigning champions.

The team's performance was really quite good! We took the lead and played to our strengths. We made a few too many individual errors though, and against these opponents, at this level, you simply can't afford to make those. As I said beforehand: today we're simply gaining experience – this was a match to help us grow.
