Deniz Aytekin and Fabienne Michel ‘to be named’ DFB Referees of the Year 2025-26 | OneFootball

Sky Germany reports that Deniz Aytekin and Fabienne Michel are in line to be named DFB Referees of the Year 2026. The recognition follows a week-long ballot of referees across Germany.

The arbiters have been rewarded for their game management throughout the 2025-26 campaign. As was the case two years ago, they will feature on the cover of the 2026-27 rulebook.

The duo received their individual trophies on Friday evening at the joint season finale for elite referees in Leipzig.

Aytekin, 47, refereed his final Bundesliga match, which ended in a 5-1 win for Bayern Munich over 1.FC Köln.

His age is the cut-off for officials in Germany, set to keep the pace of top-flight officiating and encourage younger referees.
