Coming off the back of a successful 2025/26 with VfB Stuttgart having struck 25 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions, Deniz Undav (29) is already looking to the future having helped secure his side UEFA Champions League football for the following season.

Kicker report that Stuttgart are continuing their efforts to extend the contract of Undav, which currently expires in 2027. VfB’s currently proposal of an extension until 2029 with an option for a further year falls just short of Undav’s expectations. Per the report, the player’s representatives seek a deal until 2030 with a reported salary of €6m plus a signing bonus which exceeds €3m, although the Bundesliga outfit are offering a €5.5m salary.

Stuttgart certainly won’t want to enter 2026/27 with Undav in the final year of his contract, but Kicker’s understanding is that both parties want to extend their cooperation beyond 2027.

The 29-year-old is one of three Stuttgart players nominated in Julian Nagelsmann’s 26-man Germany squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following an impressive campaign having finished third, while partaking in back-to-back DFB Pokal finals.
