Departing Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has this weekend reached a contract agreement with his next club.

The outfit set to benefit from the veteran frontman’s talents for the seasons to come? Chicago Fire.

It has of course long been common knowledge that Lewandowski was set to be on the move this summer, after the Barcelona brass made the call not to afford a contract renewal offer to the Pole.

Set to turn 39 later this year, Lewandowski, in turn, was linked with potential moves to a whole host of clubs outside of European football.

And as alluded to above, late this week, one such suitor have succeeded in thrashing out a deal with the former Bayern Munich man and his entourage.

As per a report from transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano:

‘The Polish striker has agreed to join Chicago Fire after visiting the club and city two weeks ago. Lewandowski will sign early next week, ready for new chapter in MLS.’
