Derby County clip offers clues to Valencia CF friendly and evolving XI | OneFootball

Valencia CF won a Tuesday friendly against Derby County, an improvement on the Castellón run-out at Antonio Puchades. The workout was split into two halves and used for further experiments as the starting shape begins to settle.

According to Superdeporte, Derby County’s official account posted their goal, confirming a Valencia group on the pitch of Rivero, Monferrer, Wanjala, Diakhaby, Jesús Vázquez, Almeida, Ugrinic, Mayol, Raba, Otorbi and Danjuma.

From other images and participants, a second unit could be drawn of Abril, Gamón, Tárrega, De Haas, Gayà, Guido Rodríguez, Dieng, Javi Guerra, Sato, Rioja and Hugo Duro. On paper this looks closer to a first-choice side, though Danjuma, the only scorer, appeared with the other group.

Valencia face another friendly in England this week against Stoke City. That match will be shown on À Punt, giving supporters a clearer view of Carlos Corberán’s work.

The squad are based at St.George's Park, where they will coincide with FC Barcelona. Wednesday brings a light morning recovery, then a second field session in the afternoon, with two more sessions planned on Thursday.

On Friday they will train only in the morning. After that match on Saturday, they will fly to Manises, take Sunday off and return to work next week, with the final Trofeu Taronja at Mestalla looming against Newcastle.
